Simpsons DOHmination

The Simpsons have been on air for over 25 years. However their reign as the longest running animated series doesn’t just cover the silver screen but also various other platforms, enabling fans of the show to get enthralled and discover more new things about the Simpsons universe. With each addition, the phenomenon expands – this is transmedia.

I have created a short YouTube video that explores The Simpsons and the various media and non-media platforms they have ventured into to add more content to the worlds most famous town, Springfield.

Stay classy and release the hounds,

Tracy Bustamante

  1. Great video! This post was great, I really got the point of transmedia through your example of The Simpsons. Having interacted with most of the mediums The Simpsons feature on, it was great remembering how they all link and continue the great story and comedy. Thanks for the post. Also please make more videos, this was awesome!

  2. So many memories of Simpsons Hit & Run, and I didn’t even watch the show. Really shows how transmedia not only has the ability to expand the story and the world in which it takes place, but also reach new audiences who wouldn’t otherwise have been interested.
